In February 2025, the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), under the Population Movement Operation (PMO), delivered humanitarian assistance to a total of 193,273 people—128,426 from the camp settlements and 64,847 from the host communities in Cox’s Bazar.
The PMO has effectively reached these people through various humanitarian aid activities on resilience-building, capacity enhancement, and healthcare services (including clinical care, community-based health and first aid (CBHFA), and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), disaster and climate risk management (DCRM), shelter, WASH, livelihoods, and child education.
Humanitarian aid was also extended to newly arrived individuals residing in camps, as well as those staying with friends and relatives.
We maintain close collaboration with the Inter-Sector Coordination Group (ISCG) / Refugee Operations and Coordination Team (ROCT), the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC), the Deputy Commissioner, and other relevant government bodies, NGOs, and UN agencies to ensure the effective and continuous implementation of planned initiatives.
In addition, Protection, Gender & Inclusion (PGI) and Community Engagement & Accountability (CEA) have played a crucial role in ensuring gender inclusion, protection, community participation, and accountability across all the activities.
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, along with national societies such as the American Red Cross, BritishRedCross, Røde Kors, Deutsches Rotes Kreuz, 日本赤十字社, الهلال الاحمر القطري Qatar Red Crescent, Röda Korset, Schweizerisches Rotes Kreuz & Türk Kızılay continue to provide support to BDRCS in carrying out this humanitarian operation.
