LET’S PARTNER

Being an auxiliary to the public authority, the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) has a unique mandate to save lives and reduce human suffering. Since the inception of the organization, we have been working very closely with the communities across Bangladesh as a credible humanitarian organization. Cyclone Preparedness Programme (CPP) – a joint programme of BDRCS and the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (MoDMR) got global recognition. In addition to the MoDMR, the Ministry of Social Welfare and Ministry of Defense are also constitutional members of our general body, while the Ministry of Health and Family Planning is the line ministry of BDRCS. Furthermore, we have developed a strong partnership with the Ministry of Education and Red Crescent activities recognized as a co-curriculum activity for academic institutions across the country. Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Ministry of Home Affairs also support BDRCS and its service delivery.

Following the Red Cross Red Crescent fundamental principles, we also work closely with other and relevant government ministries, departments, and local administrations to deliver services to the people in need. Such partnership with public authorities enables BDRCS to reach the last mile while responding to natural and man-made. Being a part of the global Red Cross Red Crescent Movement, BDRCS also works closely with the International Federation of Red Cross Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and its membership to support humanitarian assistance and resilience building in Bangladesh since 1971.
