Economic Security (EcoSec) Cox’s Bazar Project
About 655,000 to 700,000 Rohingya refugees have fled to Teknaf and Ukhia of Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh since 25 August 2017 from Myanmar and are living.The Rohingya influx affected severely on the host residents. The living means of the host residents occupied by them for the refugee receives lower payment for the same work then the host community used to receive.
Key components:
- Microeconomic initiative for Women Headed Households (WHH) and People with Disabilities (PwDs).
- Sectoral Intervention for economically vulnerable host communities.
Achievements:
- EcoSec project has distributed BDT 9543250 grants to 332 community.
- Community host people have invested the amount in assessed IGAs for their livelihood.
