The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), through the Population Movement Operation (PMO), provided humanitarian support to a total of 112,246 individuals, including 86,988 from the camps and 25,258 from the local community in Cox’s Bazar in December 2024.
The PMO has reached these communities through a range of humanitarian support focused on resilience-building, capacity development, and healthcare services.
This assistance encompasses clinical care, community-based health and first aid (CBHFA), mental health & psychosocial support (MHPSS), Disaster & climate risk management (DCRM), shelter, WASH, livelihoods, and child education. Additionally, Protection, Gender & Inclusion (PGI) and Community Engagement & Accountability (CEA) have been instrumental in promoting gender inclusion, safeguarding vulnerable groups, fostering community participation, and ensuring accountability across all interventions.
Thanks to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, along with national societies such as the American Red Cross, BritishRedCross, Røde Kors, Deutsches Rotes Kreuz, 日本赤十字社, الهلال الاحمر القطري Qatar Red Crescent, Röda Korset, Schweizerisches Rotes Kreuz & Türk Kızılay continue to continue support to BDRCS in carrying out this humanitarian operation.
