PMO, Cox’s Bazar Monthly Health Update, April 2021

885,881 Forcibly displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN) are living at temporary-made shanks in Cox’s Bazar. The figure includes 34,172 who reached before 31 August 2017. All displaced Myanmar people, including new arrivals, face compounding vulnerabilities, especially in health. BDRCS has been responding to this crisis since August 2017 implementing Population Movement Operation (PMO) with the support of the IFRC and other RCRC National Partners Societies in collaboration with the Government of Bangladesh.
BDRCS as the ‘Auxiliary to the Government’ sprang first to respond the crisis offering drinking water to these people.
Currently, 14 health facilities are functional including a SARI IITC.
Besides these, BDRCS’ RCY volunteers are assisting the Government to rollout the COVID vaccination program.
(as per UNHCR report April 2021).
