Bangladesh Red Crescent Society(BDRCS) successfully organized four two-day long Orientation on the BDRCS Management Information System (MIS) with support from Röda Korset. These Orientations were held on September 8-9, 11-12, 23-24, and 25-26, 2024. A total of 147 participants, including 58 Unit Level Officers (ULOs) and 79 Red Crescent Youth (RCY) volunteers from 68 branches, and 9 staff members from the Unit Affairs and Youth & Volunteer departments, participated in the training.
The orientations focused on several modules of the BDRCS new MIS, including the Branch Monthly Report module, Human Resource module (RCY volunteers, members, and institutional volunteers), Operational Plan module, and Event module.
The inauguration and the closing ceremony of the four-batch orientation was graced by Major General (Rtd.) Md. Rafiqul Islam, the honorable Chairman of the BDRCS. Other distinguished guests included Dr. Kabir M. Ashraf Alam, ndc, Secretary General of BDRCS; Mr. Md. Mijanur Rahman, Director of Disaster Response (DR); Mr. Imam Zafar Sikder, Director of Youth & Volunteers (Y&V) and Disaster and Crisis Risk Management (DCRM); Dr. Shahana Zafor, Director of Fund Raising; Professor Brigadier General Dr. S M Humayun Kabir (Retd.), Director of Health and Blood Program; Mr. Joynal Abedin, Director, HR & Admin and Estate; Sayma Ferdowsy, Director of Planning & Development and Restoring Family Links (RFL); A.H.M Mainul Islam, Director, Finance; and Ms. Nazma Parveen, Director of the Unit Affairs Department.
Representatives from International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and PNSs also attended the event. These included Sonakshi Dey, Coordinator of Programmes, IFRC; Mohammad Adith Shah Durjoy, Senior Manager of National Society Development, IFRC; Ranjan Mohnot, Country Representative for Bangladesh, Swedish Red Cross and Kamrul Hasan, NSD Manager, British Red Cross.
