In 2025, the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) stood alongside communities across the country as they faced a series of climate-related shocks; from floods and cyclones to tornadoes and population movements. Behind each crisis were families navigating uncertainty, loss, and the urgent need to recover and rebuild.
With the support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), its partners, and generous donors, BDRCS delivered timely, coordinated humanitarian assistance when it was needed most.
Across Bangladesh, BDRCS combined in-kind support with Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA), enabling people not only to meet their immediate needs, but also to make choices that best supported their recovery. From early action to longer-term resilience programmes, this approach placed dignity, flexibility, and trust at the centre of the response.
In total, BDRCS reached 24,767 households (approximately 123,835 people) with cash assistance amounting to BDT 329,652,480 (CHF 2,273,465 or USD 2,747,104.00). Beyond the numbers, this represents thousands of families able to restore livelihoods, repair homes, and move forward with greater confidence.
