Between 18 May and 30 June 2026, the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), with technical and operational support from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), conducted a detail assessment among 2,746 families of patients receiving measles-related treatment at 12 government hospitals. Assessed patients’ home addresses span 62 districts nationwide, reflecting the geographic reach of referral-hospital caseloads. The assessment was conducted to understand the socioeconomic impact of the measles outbreak on affected households.
The assessment was conducted during the acute phase of hospital treatment, with data collected directly from families at or shortly after the point of care between 18 May and 30 June 2026. This timing captures the immediate financial and coping response of households, rather than longer-term recovery trajectories, which fall outside the scope of this assessment.
