Kazi Shofiqul Azam has joined the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) on 06 February 2022 as Secretary General. He has a very enriched service career of over 37 years. ln his glorious service career, he served Bangladesh Government for 34 years and retired as Sr. Secretary, Economic Relations Division (ERD), Ministry of Finance in 2018. He joined the Bangladesh Civil Service in 1983 and through extensive Government service career, he performed in various key departments in different capacities under Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture etc. till his retirement. From 2019 to 2021 Mr. Kazi Shafiqul Azam lead the Sustainable Graduation Project as Project Adviser, Economic Relation Division, Ministry of Finance, Government of Bangladesh Mr. Kazi Shofiqul Azam has a very vast level of experience of working with World Bank, ADB, JICA, UNDP, USAID and other renowned global development agencies.
Mr. Kazi Shofiqul Azam completed his B.com (hons.). and M. Com in Finance from University of Dhaka in 1981. He enriched himself by numerous national and international professional courses and trainings.
