The newly elected board members of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society paid a courtesy visit to Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban on Wednesday morning. During the meeting, the board members briefed on the activities of the Red Crescent Society during the disasters including floods, corona, Rohingyas. They expressed their gratitude to the memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for establishing the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and condemned the most heinous and brutal massacre in the history of August 15, ’75 and wished peace to the souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib and the martyred members of his family.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina lauded the actions of the Red Crescent Society during the disaster and called for the involvement of the younger generation in the service of humanity in particular. He noted that his government and his personal cooperation will continue as usual in expanding the activities of the Red Crescent Society across the country. He also congratulated Major General (retd.) ATM Abdul Wahab, Chairman, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society on being elected as a member of IFRC for the next four years.

During the meeting with the Prime Minister at Ganabhaban, vice chairman Md. Nur-Ur-Rahman, Treasurer M.A. Salam, along with the esteemed board members of the Society and the Secretary-General were present.
