Community Development

Community Development (CD) department of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society has been making continuous efforts to achieve the goals of improvement of the socio-economic conditions of marginalized people. The goal of the Dept. is to increase community resilience to disasters and improve the basic living conditions.

The department has been implementing four projects to provide training and financial assistance to the local community for income-generating activities. Projects were designed to improve future stability of the poverty-driven, vulnerable, and helpless communities especially those who are not most vulnerable to disasters, but also vulnerable due to their lack of awareness of their socio-economic conditions.

However, The department is playing a leading role in building a better society for the marginalized people and helping to improve the livelihoods of the local population of Cox’s Bazar and hilly district affected by the displaced people from Myanmar.
