Background of the unit: The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society engaged in self-service is established by Presidential Ordinance PO73. At present, the society is working in the service of self-reliance through 68 branches in 64 districts. Following this, Chandpur Branch is working in the service of humanity following the instructions of the National Society. There is an active and strong committee of 11 members for the management and administration of the branch. Where there is a chairman, a vice chairman, a secretary and 08 members. Those who faithfully serve the branch. Since its inception, each branch has been providing services in the area covered by the branch with the help of the National Society.
Chandpur Unit: Chandpur Unit was established in 1973 under the leadership of Mr. Shafiullah MP. M Shafiullah MP was the chairman of the unit at that time. Since its inception, the Chandpur Red Crescent Unit has been playing an important role in humanitarian activities. CBDM, CBDRR, International Friendship Project Chandpur Unit has already implemented.
Regular activities of Chandpur Unit: Annual General Meeting of Chandpur Red Crescent Unit, Celebration of National and International Day, Youth Red Crescent Co-educational Activities, Lifetime Membership, Fundraising, Attendance and Coordination at various Government and Private Meetings, Response to Disasters, Voluntary Blood Donation Program etc. The activities are regular.
Source of income of Chandpur unit: Shop building rent and FDR.
